چکیده

Solar energetic particles (SEPs) accelerated from shocks driven by coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are one of the major causes geomagnetic storms on Earth. Therefore, it is necessary to predict occurrence and intensity such disturbances. For this purpose we analyzed in detail 38 non-interacting halo partial CMEs, as seen Heliospheric Observatory/Large Angle Spectrometric Coronagraph, generating SEPs (in > 10 MeV, 50 100 MeV energy channels) during quadrature configuration TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO) twin spacecrafts with respect Earth, which marks ascending phase solar cycle 24 (i.e., 2009–2013). The main criteria for selection period obtain height–time measurements CMEs without significant projection effects a very large field view. Using data STEREO/Sun Earth Connection Coronal Investigation (STEREO/SECCHI) images determined several kinematic parameters instantaneous speeds CMEs. First, compare CME speed Mach number versus SEP fluxes events originating at western eastern limb; observe high correlation anticorrelation events. Of two parameters, offers higher correlation. Next investigated maximum speed, number, peak flux fluxes. Highly positive observed all obtained emperical models was verified start end time type II radio bursts, signatures CME-driven shock interplanetary medium. Furthermore, conducted estimates delay distance between CME, SEP, parameters. We an increase when reach onset move limb. Western limb (longitude 60°) have best connectivity decreases towards This variation due magnetic Sun called Parker spiral field. Comparative studies considered channels also throw light reacceleration suprathermal seed ions that pre-accelerated reconnection.

Strength of coronal mass ejection-driven shocks near the Sun and its importance in predicting solar energetic particle events

Coronal shocks are an important structure but without direct observations in solar and space physics. The strength of shocks plays a key role in shockrelated phenomena, such as radio bursts, SEP generation and so on. This paper will present an improved method of calculating Alfvén speed and shock strength near the Sun. In the method, observations as many as possible rather than onedimensional g...

Solar Mini-Dimming Kinematics and Their Positive Correlations with Coronal Mass Ejections and Prominence

Solar mini-dimmings can be detect in the Extreme Ultra-Violet coronal eruptions. Here, sequences of 171_A images taken by Solar Dynamic Observatory/Atmospheric Imaging Assembaly on 13 June 2010 are used. In this special day, both of coronal mass ejection and prominence were observed. The average velocities and accelerations of 500 mini-dimmings which were detected using on feature based classif...

Spatial Relationship between Solar Flares and Coronal Mass Ejections

We report on the spatial relationship between solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) observed during 1996-2005 inclusive. We identified 496 flare-CME pairs considering limb flares (distance from central meridian ≥ 45◦) with soft X-ray flare size ≥ C3 level. The CMEs were detected by the Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO) on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SO...

Deflections of Fast Coronal Mass Ejections and the Properties of Associated Solar Energetic Particle Events (postprint)

The onset times and peak intensities of solar energetic particle (SEP) events at Earth have long been thought to be influenced by the open magnetic fields of coronal holes (CHs). The original idea was that a CH lying between the solar SEP source region and the magnetic footpoint of the 1 AU observer would result in a delay in onset and/or a decrease in the peak intensity of that SEP event. Rece...

Energetic particle precipitation into the middle atmosphere triggered by a coronal mass ejection

[1] Precipitation of relativistic electrons into the atmosphere has been suggested as the primary loss mechanism for radiation belt electrons during large geomagnetic storms. Here we investigate the geographical spread of precipitation as a result of the arrival of a coronal mass ejection (CME) on 21 January 2005. In contrast to previous statistical studies we provide one of the first attempts ...
